The Sydney PEN Magazine is a print and online publication, with print versions produced to coincide with PEN Forums featuring distinguished speakers held at the Sydney Writers Festival in May and at the Cell Block Theatre in November to mark the International Day of the Imprisoned Writer. It is co-edited by PEN Sydney Vice-Presidents Sandy Symons and Susie Eisenhuth.
Hard copies of the magazine are also distributed to festivals, bookshops and International PEN centres. The magazine contains articles by our own members and by professional writers and journalists, writing about issues of concern in line with PEN’s mission to defend freedom of expression and heighten awareness of censorship, oppression and imprisonment of writers and journalists around the world.
The Sydney PEN Magazine is produced with the support of our key sponsors, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), and the Copyright Agency Limited (CAL) Cultural Fund.
